Each of us can burn something on a pan while talking on a phone or watching a TV. It can also happen when we adjust too big flame or add too little oil. So, what should we do when food has burnt on a pan? Do we have to throw a vessel away or scratch the surface to remove the burnt rests?
How to avoid burning food on ceramic pans?
The main mistake during frying is adding no oil on a pan. Remember that even ceramic pans with non-sticking properties need some. Frying with no fat results in overheating cookware. In a very short time the ceramic coating will be damaged, and it will lose its non-sticking proprieties. In addition, it is important to pay attention to the frying temperature and fat which we use. Be careful with adjusting the flame, it can’t be too big. Add fat which slowly burns even at high temperature – for example, lard or clarified butter. It will reduce the risk of burning food on a pan.
A burnt ceramic pan – how to clean it?
When you burn something on a pan, under no circumstances do scratch the walls and bottom of a vessel. Remember that the faster you start cleaning it, the easier it will be to remove all the burnt rests.
The easiest way is to cool off a pan, pour warm water, and leave it for about three hours. Next, all the rests should be easy to remove with a soft cloth.
If the aforementioned idea does not work, try using baking soda. Add three teaspoons of soda, pour hot water and cook it for about 15 minutes. Baking soda should dissolve the burnt rests and enables to remove them quickly. For better results, you can also add three teaspoons of vinegar to the mixture of water and baking soda, and cook it for about 15 minutes.
The last method of removing burnt rests is to pour vinegar to a pan and leave it for a night. Then, the cleaning of a vessel should be quick and easy.
No matter if you decide to clean a pan with soda or vinegar, remember that washing it with warm water, dishwashing liquid and a soft cloth is necessary. Don’t forget about wiping a frying pan thoroughly too! Leaving a wet vessel can result in the appearance of lime scale on the coating, and the loss of non-stick proprieties.
